Safeguarding in Charities, Statement

Safeguarding in Charities

The Trustees take safeguarding extremely seriously.   It is a key governance priority for all charities, not just those working with groups traditionally considered at risk.

The Charity Commission has 4 clear expectations of Trustees:
1.    Provide a safe and trusted environment
2.    Set an organisational culture that prioritises safeguarding
3.    Have adequate safeguarding policies, procedures and measures and review regularly/kept up to date
4.    Handle incidents as they arise.  Report any to relevant authorities including the Police and Charity Commission.

Trustees will ensure they are compliant with legal duties, manage any incidents responsibly and take prompt steps to protected people affected.
